in spellwork honey is used to sweeten the situation/petition/problem that you are working on, and to help bind/stick something (positive)

Bees wax has been utilized in the Magick of many traditions. Making wax figures for spell binding for example. What the Ancient Egyptians have to offer is probably the best info provided the source was deciphered properly. The Egyptians were one of the first peoples to keep bees and they play an important part in many myths of different cultures. The Lacandon Maya use honey etc from a species of bee that has no stinger. The honey is used to create a magickal potion called Balche . The fermentation takes place usually in a hollowed out log in the shape of a canoe ( a symbol of travel ). A kind of bark stripped from a particular tree is added that impart a psychoactive quality similar to Ecstasy.
There's lots of lore to explore...

Love is not always sweet but it certainly is sticky. I think it's use in love spells also transfers a binding and capturing aspect.
I pulled a chunk of honey out of the hive with my bare hands to give to my GF the first time I got to actually spend a minute with her and she is still hanging around. The funny thing is that the honey I pulled out mysteriously tasted like rose!
    Weird eh?
