Re: i smell good
Tue, March 1, 2005 - 11:48 AMI haven't been able to find a honey fragrance that's true, but Lush makes an incredible soap: "Honey I Washed the Kids". Excellent (if spendy) stuff....
www.lush.com/cgi-bin/lushdb/index.html
Most of the "honey"" fragrance/essential oils I've tried tend to smell like red clover blooming and unfortunately that's what the baby-stuff industry uses in their products. I've been many things, childish, childlike, etc. But diapered is not how I'd like to be preceived... -

Re: i smell good
Sun, March 20, 2005 - 6:24 PMI second the LUSH endorsement. When I was at a weird beauty supply shop in LA a few years ago, I found the best honey fragrance yet - and it doesn't smell like diapers!
It's by Demeter, which also makes perfume that smells like such things as cut grass, tomato, graham cracker, paperback book, bourbon, and fresh paint, which is all sort of eerie.
My boyfriend is a lover of honey, and he especially loves it when I wear it. Sorry if I sound like a commercial, but it's just that good.

Sun, March 20, 2005 - 6:48 PMHere I go monopolizing the thread again...
I forgot to mention L'Occitane honey incense - expensive, but it goes a long way - I only like to burn about an inch at a time, it's wonderful!! L'Occitane also makes honey soaps & such, which I have smelled at the store but not used, but it smelled pretty effin good. -

Tue, March 29, 2005 - 10:55 AMWell, X-Kappa, I went nuts okay NUTS at that site! Thank you so much for the reference. I passed on the fireplace fragrance though, and went with the honey and a heliotrope. Great selection and very reasonably priced. Can't wait to experience them. Thank you again for the post. Monopolize any time :) -

Re: i smell good
Tue, March 29, 2005 - 7:22 PMI'm glad you went nuts, I hope it smells good to your sniffer. I got all inspired too, and am planning a trip to Sephora (they carry Demeter), and LUSH when I get done with this big housepainting job and get the paycheckola...a reward for wearing the same stinky paint-covered overalls for three weeks and feeling not cute or fresh-smelling.

Tue, March 29, 2005 - 7:23 PMWhat form is the propolis in? Oil? Powder? Chunks? Leaves? Can I get it at the herb shop? I always liked the propolis & myrhh (sp?) toothpastes. -
